I really DO LOVE painting floors- I guess you all know that by now.

The impact it can make in even the smallest spaces really does amaze me!

This small kitchen was WAY smaller with natural wood stained floors,

the paint lightened it up and the stripes opened it up

A LOT!

I was recently enlisted to paint a eat-in kitchen floor.

The homeowner had a few ideas and we talked back and fourth,

emailed photos and settled on a simple 9 inch stripe using a warm white and a grayish blue.

below are the process photos I thought I would share!

First, paint the floor white: it might take a few coats!

Second, mark out the stripes- these are 9 in wide ( the boards are 2.25 in) so,

the colors switched where there was a natural seam between two boards.

This is helpful when the boards contract in the winter.

SO SIMPLE, and soothing.  What a HUGE  difference!
