I love the texture and feel a seagrass rug brings into a room…
BUT do not like that they are not stain resistant.
Here is an idea if you are not quite ready to throw that stained seagrass rug away.

A Sea Grass rug with a pattern hides a lot of small stains and will
make the rug last a little longer!
I have used water based stains, or Sunny’s glazes to stencil with,
they dry fast,
do not get hard once dry,
and absorb into the rug quickly, leaving nice clean lines.
Happy Reinventing!

The steciling is great! Great tip to increase the life of the rug.

Love the seagrass stenciled rug. Was wondering what kind of brush you used for this and how did you hold down the stencil enought to keep the stain or glaze from bleeding? Thanks so much!
I just used a china bristle brush- the up and down motion on the stencil keeps it from bleeding- and I use a small amount of paint and or stain.
