THE ENTRANCE

Doorways set the tone for what you are about to experience- at least that has been my thought process for awhile.

Whether you are coming into a home, or moving from room to room, you can create a great entrance!

Here are some cool ideas, INSIDE and OUT…

I LOVE the decorative painting around this dining room/ kitchen door.

Absolutely awesome! REALLY can you imagine if you HAD to look at this every day- it is so cool.

It  is great with or without the blue chinoiserie painting and tassels.

I have a thing for PINK, so naturally I love this.  It really works since the walls are white,

the floor is white and the bedding is white with details in PINK!

The baseboard in pink outlines and finishes the room.

Paint the runner- up the steps!

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

I have yet to actually paint a runner up a flight of stairs.

I LOVE the idea though and can only imagine all of the incredible possibilities!

Check these ideas out-

The ORANGE really pops! I like the band along the top of the baseboard too!  Nice and graphic!

This Simple BLUE defines the staircase- I like when I see one knows when to stop. Very chic.

Stripes in varying widths and shades of grey and blue is classic and casual, SORT OF BEACHY.

Stained and Stenciled Floors

Friday, February 19th, 2010

I have been restructuring my office space and it has forced me to go through several PILES of old magazine “inspiration” books.  I have this weird passion for painted, decorated, stained  & patterned floors!  It must have come with me from another life.  I thought I would scan a few in a share the ideas.  I wish I could give proper credit, but these are so old, and I only had the pages, not even the whole magazine.

ENJOY!

The different shades of stain and the geometrical structure in this entrance hall is quite stunning, it can also go with either traditional or modern furnishings.
