Sunny’s Customer Brag Blog

Monday, September 20th, 2010

OK, SO I need to Brag about a customer who is adorable,

sends nice email questions, and loves to complete cool projects!

She also takes pictures AND shares her pictures with me!!

It is my passion to inspire all who see the greatness in decorative painting, and color, and how it can influence interior spaces.

In 2004 I wrote a inspirational “how to”  book called   Paint Can!

It was designed to make decorative painting projects not seem quite so daunting,

and take some of the mystery out of the finishes we thought we could NEVER achieve on our own.

Kristin  bought the book, and here are some of her results:

This living room “rug” was her first project using the book and the Hayden Stencil-

she emailed me and said, ” my mother was “horrified” when I told her I was painting my wood floors.

I , of course, did it anyway with the instructions from Paint Can! and it turned out beautifully.

My mother now calls the floors “stunning”.  Thanks so much. I can’t wait to do it again!”

I guess it was only the beginning…..

She then moved into the entrance hall and painted a rug there using the large BEA stencil,

Kristin has a great flair and really know how to choose colors that flow together,

notice her aqua on the floor in the entrance , and her living room aqua wall color- this is great balance, and flow.

cool mirrors over the sofa too!

The Kitchen also got a facelift, or floorlift?

Anyway- notice how light and airy her walls are and trim is stark white- the bold colors and patterns flow quite nicely, and does not feel like too much!

It is SO fun to brag about a customer, and THEIR achievements.

I am very impressed (she also has three YOUNG children!)

CONGRATULATIONS KRISTIN !!

and

thanks for sharing your projects and ideas!

Summer Stripes on the Kitchen Floor

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

I really DO LOVE painting floors- I guess you all know that by now.

The impact it can make in even the smallest spaces really does amaze me!

This small kitchen was WAY smaller with natural wood stained floors,

the paint lightened it up and the stripes opened it up

A LOT!

I was recently enlisted to paint a eat-in kitchen floor. (more…)

A decorated Floor ANY HUSBAND will LOVE!

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

Here is a floor ANY husband will like.

I say this since most husbands strongly object to painted floors, well…..the solution is a STAINED pattern.

This floor has quickly become one of my favorites!

Below the finished photo I have a small series I took while doing this project to share the steps involved in this project.

enjoy the process!

Paint the runner- up the steps!

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

I have yet to actually paint a runner up a flight of stairs.

I LOVE the idea though and can only imagine all of the incredible possibilities!

Check these ideas out-

The ORANGE really pops! I like the band along the top of the baseboard too!  Nice and graphic!

This Simple BLUE defines the staircase- I like when I see one knows when to stop. Very chic.

Stripes in varying widths and shades of grey and blue is classic and casual, SORT OF BEACHY.

The Art of Reinvention

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

I love the texture and feel a seagrass rug brings into a room…

BUT do not like  that they are not stain resistant.

Here is an idea if you are not quite ready to throw that stained seagrass rug away. (more…)
